CHRISTMAS FAIR

There will be a Christmas Fair at Christ Church with St Philip on Saturday 7 December.

We are having a stall and it should be fun!

It's nearly christmas!

I'm sorry but I've neglected you recently!

In terms of work life balance there hasn't been any balance.
All work and no play for me.

BUT....I've heard a rumour that it's nearly Christmas so we are going to be doing Christmas Decorations at Craft Club tonight

Be there if you can ...7.30

Sunday 29 September 2013

Only 2 days to go....

Don't forget we are meeting on Tuesday night 1 October at Christ Church with St Philip, Ruskin Drive
Worcester Park 7.30-9.30

We are planning to make Cute Felt Things-Hearts, Birds and maybe a few other animals.

We have some materials available so bring your scissors and turn up..
You can still purchase a loyalty card even if you didn't have one last time.

See you there

Wednesday 4 September 2013

The group worked very hard to achieve this in a short time.
There are 20 triangles on it at the moment and some members decided to do more at home.
Can't wait to see it.

Group Bunting....the progress

Here's some photos of what we got up to last night.

We missed you Helen and BJ

Cut the triangles using a template - we used a rotary cutter, but scissors is fine.

Here are some finished triangles

trim the point as close as possible without cutting the stitching, turn inside out and press.

Pin the triangle to the bias binding
Sew along the bias binding making sure the triangle is tucked firmly inside. Space the triangles as you wish. I like a space but I've seen nice bunting where the triangles are very close together.

Hang your bunting!

Group Bunting

It was an amazing effort and production line at Craft Club tonight.
Some  stalwart cutters of triangles, a number of people who brought their sewing machines out from the cupboard and one very enthusiastic new sewing machine owner.

Pictures of the bunting tomorrow.

It looks pretty good.

Thanks to everyone who came to make it such an enjoyable evening.

Gathered Round Fabric Basket

I've been trying to find a constructive way to deal with all the fabric stash I have.
I found some instructions for a basket
http://www.aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com/2013/03/gathered-round-basket-3-sizes.html

Here is my first attempt.

It said you needed iron-on wadding but I didn't have any any so used normal wadding and I had difficulty with the gathering. Hence it's a bit lopsided but It's probably worth persevering because they might be handy!

LOYALTY CARD

Hello Crafters,

We are pleased to announce that we are launching

Worcester Park Crafters
LOYALTY CARD.
Sadly, we have had to raise the monthly fee to cover our costs of holding the group but we have decided to soften the blow a bit by offering you the chance to buy a

PrePaid Loyalty Card for £25 for 6 meetings.

These do not have to be consecutive so if you cannot attend one month then you can use it until your 6 months have been used up.

Our pay monthly cost will be £5 from September 2013 so it will save you  £5 (and you can spend this this on crafting goodies!)

SEE YOU SOON and bring a friend!

Preparing the bunting

We've cut out a lot of triangles using a template that I measured and drew out on card. We sew two triangles together for each flag and think you need between 12 and 15 on each row of bunting.

We used a rotary cutter (my new gadget) and cut quite a few layers at a time.
